the direct line, argued on the line

This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Brothers and sisters are not drawn here: this archive records kin against a NAME rather than against a person, so the family on a name page may belong to several different people of that name. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

2 relationships on this chart were never date-tested. This archive refuses a relative whose years do not fit — more than six out for a child, outside twelve to sixty for a parent. Where one side has no year at all that test cannot run, and the link is drawn on the name. It is shown because most people in the early registers carry no year, and refusing them would empty the chart of the centuries this archive exists to show. It is counted here because a line nothing tested is a weaker claim than a line that passed, and the chart cannot tell them apart.

What the archive knows

Married 9 February 1766 at San Vincenti, and the first marriage of this name the archive has read there. «…ha contratto il matrimonio per verba de presenti con Elena figlia di q. Mattio de Franceschi, nativa di questo Castello» — carta 11 of the marriages 1762–1815. Her husband is Mattio, son of the late Michiel Sandalezza, a native of the Territory of Albona (Labin) who had lived about fifteen years in the district of San Vincenti before he was admitted to marry here. Her father was already dead. A bride of 1766 was born around the 1740s — inside the twenty-nine years the volume's index cannot reach. (doc, read at magnification, 21 September 2026.)
