This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Brothers and sisters are not drawn here: this archive records kin against a NAME rather than against a person, so the family on a name page may belong to several different people of that name. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

What the archive knows

A Defranceschi found only because he stood at somebody else's wedding. 11 November 1780: «…la dove esposero il loro mutuo e libero consenso alla mia presenza di Gregorio Defrance[schi] … Ant.o e di Gasparo Bratulich q.m Vitt.o Campanaro Testimonj» — the marriage of Zuane figlio di Sime Baglianich of Šimuni to Maria figlia del q.m Michiel Gaspich, film 005497886, frame 86, read at 2.6×. (doc for the name.) ⚠ An ink blot sits on the words between his surname and «Ant.o», and this archive no longer reads them. On the morning of 28 September 2026 it did: it compared the surviving mark to the undoubted «q.m Vitt.o» on the very next line, judged them the same, and published «Gregorio Defranceschi q.m Ant.o» — a son of a dead Antonio. Seven frames later the same volume proved that wrong. On 13 March 1783 and again on 28 April 1783 the register writes «Capo Antonio de Franceschi» — alive, and titled — while marking its dead in the same sentences with «deff.o» and «q.». See the correction. What survives is the name. A Gregorio Defranceschi was at the castle in November 1780 and was asked to witness — which, in a parish where the family had stood at every wedding for twenty years, is what the name meant there. How he was related to Capo Antonio or to Vittorio is not recorded, and is not guessed. Born about 1750 — estimated from standing as a witness, nothing more.

No one else in this archive carries this name.
