The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

⭐ He was a name with no dates and no note at all. He now has a day, a year and a son. > 2. · Leonardo Defranceschi — 1751 > 13. · Pietro Sepcich — 1647 · Matteo figlio q. Leonardo Defranceschi — 1755 (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069219: the Gologorica obit calendar, under 2 and 13 November.) Leonardo Defranceschi died on 2 November 1751, and four years later the same calendar buries Matteo, son of the late Leonardo — whose «q.» confirms, from a second entry, that his father was already dead. ⚠ That this is the man this row was made for is inf. The row was minted as «the elder» to hold a Leonardus distinct from the one the family tree dates 1697–1773, and a Leonardo dying in 1751 is what that row was for — but the calendar gives no age, no house and no patronymic, and nothing here proves the two are the same construction. ⚠ AND HE IS NOW A CANDIDATE FOR SOMETHING ELSE. The marriage of 9 June 1774 calls its groom «q.ᵐ Leonardi filius» — son of a late Leonardus. This archive published that, the same day, as probably the Leonardus who died in 1773. A man marrying in 1774 whose father died in 1751 is simply a man of twenty-three or more, so this Leonardo fits the word just as well — and he has a document where the other has a family tree. The identification has been weakened accordingly.
