the direct line, argued on the line

This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Brothers and sisters are not drawn here: this archive records kin against a NAME rather than against a person, so the family on a name page may belong to several different people of that name. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

One relationship on this chart was never date-tested. This archive refuses a relative whose years do not fit — more than six out for a child, outside twelve to sixty for a parent. Where one side has no year at all that test cannot run, and the link is drawn on the name. It is shown because most people in the early registers carry no year, and refusing them would empty the chart of the centuries this archive exists to show. It is counted here because a line nothing tested is a weaker claim than a line that passed, and the chart cannot tell them apart.

What the archive knows

⭐⭐ A DEFRANCESCHI DAUGHTER WHO MARRIED OUT, and a household of seven the archive did not hold — read on the page, 12 October 2026. Ližnjan «Liber Baptizatorum», page 69, 1857, the Parentes columns of the second entry: > Pater «Antonio Nascovich fu Giovanni» · Mater «Maddalena Defranceschi fu Matteo» A Defranceschi daughter, of a Matteo already dead by 1857, wife of Antonio Nascovich. She is not the Maddalena this archive holds. That one is Maddalena Defranceschi, 1788–1849, dead eight years before this entry was written. This is a different woman of the same name, and she was in no file here. ⭐ And she had a household. The FamilySearch index, harvested on 12 October and tied to the Ližnjan books by ark, carries seven Našković children to a «Maddalena Defranceschi» at this parish: Euffemia 1852, Cattarina 1855, Cattarina 1856, Cattarina 1857, Antonius 1859, Joannes 1869, Josephus 1873 — three daughters given the same name, which usually means the first two died. None of the seven is in this roster, and none has been read on the page. They are recorded as leads, not as people. ⚠ Her father is NOT asserted. The entry says only «fu Matteo». This archive's own register.json holds lead XQM3-21M6 — «Mattio Francesch, b. 1799, d. 20 December 1839, Ližnjan» — which fits a Matteo dead before 1857, and which no roster row has ever taken up. A date that fits is not a match, which is the error this archive refuses on its own side, so the lead is named here as a candidate and nothing more. Waypoint 9R2Z-44D, frame 32. (doc — the baptism register of the parish, read at the page, for her name, her patronymic and her husband; the seven children are inf, from the index.)
