Virginija de Franceschi Marfan (1895–1981), 1895 – 1981, Gračišće. Sixth of the eleven children of Antonio DeFranceschi and Maria Valhart, and the only one of the. Every record this archive holds for this one person, with the document behind each.
The family
No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.
What the archive knows
d = null. A second photograph is what exposed it. The rule is the archive's own: a finding is not done until it is in every file that asserts it.
She married Giovanni Marfan — Ivan in Croatian, and the stone beside hers gives his dates — and she is the reason the two families are buried together. She was the niece of Josip Defranceschi, who took this archive's own line down to Crikvenica in 1890, and therefore the first cousin of Anton Rudolf. One half of the family went to the Kvarner, Germany, South Africa and Australia; the other to New York, Buenos Aires and Tuscany. She stayed, and was still receiving her American cousins in the family house in the 1970s.1 other person in this archive carry this name. They are different individuals and are not this person.
