The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

A son of Jacobo, and the register had never named him until now. 19 July 1784: «Zuanne figlio del q. Giacomo de Franceschi contrasse li primi sponsali con Antonia figlia del q. Antonio … ambi di questa Parrochia … interrogati dal Molto Rev.do D. Agostino de Canavia» — film 005497886, frame 96, read at 2.2×. Witnesses D.n Benedetto Fiorenza and D.n Antonio Zambrasio. (doc.) ⚠ «figlio del q. Giacomo de Franceschi» points at a household this archive holds — and at a problem it has already recorded. The castle's Giacomo is Jacobo de Franceschi, fl. 1737–1752, whose page is titled «at least two men» for the good reason that the baptisms cannot be made to fit one. Pascasia is his widow, remarrying in 1765; their daughter Antonia marries as «figlia del q.m Giac.mo» in 1779; and here a son of a dead Giacomo marries in 1784. So Zuanne is not placed under a father — he is placed against an unresolved pair. This archive says only that he is a son of a Giacomo de Franceschi of this parish who was dead by 1784. Which of the two, or whether the two are really two, this act does not decide. (The parentage is doc; the household is not assigned.) He is the first son of that name-and-parish the marriage register has produced. Its daughters were already known; no male child of a Svetvinčenat Giacomo had yet been seen marrying. Born about 1755 — estimated from the marriage, and consistent with a family whose known daughter was born in 1747.
