Galižana

Galižana holds a single record of the name, a marriage of 1824, and it is worth a page for what is in it: the groom is Giacomo Giachin, and a Domenica Defranceschi is named among the parties.

Giachin is the surname behind an open question at Vodnjan. A Michiela De Franceschi fu Giuseppe is named in the Vodnjan death register of February 1833 as the mother of a Giacomo Giachin; and the Vodnjan marriages carry a Sebastiano Giachin × Domenica De Franceschi, 1817–1832. Here is a Giacomo Giachin marrying at Gallesano in 1824 with a Domenica Defranceschi in the entry.

The index writes one of the parties as «Sebastiano Defranceschi», which is almost certainly wrong — a Giachin father given the mother's surname by a transcriber, a failure this archive has seen before. The page will say and the index will not, and until the page is read this is a coincidence of names in a neighbouring parish and nothing more.
