Albina Cincopan (Defranceschi)
Albina Cincopan (Defranceschi). Gračišće. Every mention of this name in the archive — 2 across 4 pages.
Rotilio's wife, and the woman this archive had argued out of existence. The Trieste marriage proclamation of 28 April 1928 names her in full: «Cincopan Albina, nubile, di professione casalinga, nata a Gallignana, residente in Gallignana, di età maggiore, figlia di Giuseppe, di professione agricoltore, residente in Gallignana, e di Trompich Maria, di professione casalinga, residente in Gallignana». She married Rotilio Defranceschi — born Gallignana 3 November 1902, chauffeur — and the Gračišće register gives the wedding as 16 May 1928. The banns ran at Trieste as well as Pisino, «ove la sposa ha avuto la residenza» — because she had lived at Trieste. (doc.) This page exists because the archive was wrong about her. It had published that the 2012 reunion album confused her with Rotilio's sister Albina, who married a Frank Chinkopan at Brooklyn. Both marriages are real; Cincopan and Chinkopan are one surname. See /corrections/. David's tree carries her as «Albine Chinkopan, born Italy, died Buenos Aires». The birth and the marriage are now documented; Buenos Aires is not, and no Argentine record of either of them has been found.

The Defranceschi Archive
…1928, Part II Series A no. 132, reads «Defranceschi Rotilo, celibe … nato a Gallignana … figlio di fu Antonio … e di Valhart Maria» and «Cincopan Albina, nubile … nata a Gallignana … figlia di Giuseppe … e di Trompich Maria». Rotilio married an Albina Cincopan of his own village, and his sister Albina separately married Frank Chinkopan. Cincopan and Chinkopan are one surname spelled two ways. The album's detail was correct, David's tree was correct to keep two Albinas, and the inference published here was…

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
