Ante / Antun Defrančeski of Ližnjan (fl. 1919–1920)
Ante / Antun Defrančeski of Ližnjan (fl. 1919–1920), born about 1885 — estimated, not recorded. Ližnjan. Every mention of this name in the archive — 1 across 1 page.
Found only because somebody finally searched the Croatian spelling of the name. «Pučki prijatelj» (Krk), 19 December 1919 — a subscription list «sabrao među radnicima u arsenalu», collected among the workers of the Pula arsenal: among those giving one lira, «Defrančeski Antun». (doc.) «Pučki prijatelj», 27 February 1920 — another list, this one «Sabrano u Ližnjanu kod Pule», collected at Ližnjan near Pula: among those giving two lire, «Defrančeski Ante». (doc.) Ante is Antun, and fourteen months apart he is an arsenal worker and a subscriber at Ližnjan. (inf that the two entries are one man — the forename, the spelling and the district all agree, and nothing else does the work.) ⚠ Why he matters out of proportion to two lire. He stands on the Ližnjan line's own ground, in the years it runs through, and no sweep had found him — because the archive had searched «Defranceschi» and «Defranceski» and never «Defrančeski», the form a Croatian paper would actually print. One diacritic, and a working man at Ližnjan was invisible for a year. Born about 1885 — estimated from a man donating out of wages in 1919, and nothing narrower is claimed.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
