What the archive knows

Married at Svetvinčenat on 14 March 1785, and described as a man of Gologorica. > «Antonio q. Leonardo de Franceschi da Gollogorizza Diocesi di Pedena contrasse li primi sponsali per verba de presenti, con Maria figlia q. Giacomo Corva da Muina Diocesi d'Udine» The one document this archive holds with Gologorica and Muina in the same sentence. «Diocesi di Pedena» settles the place: Gologorica sat in that diocese and no other Istrian village carries the name. His banns were read by his own parish priest, whose letter of 13 March the archpriest cites, and the Curia of Parenzo dispensed the closed season. ⚠ Identified, on inference, with the Antonio de Franceschi son of the late Leonardo who heads the household at Muina — name, patronymic, a Corva wife of Muina and a son born at Muina in 1788 all agree, but no document yet links the Svetvinčenat groom to the Muina farmer in one breath. (doc for the entry; inf for the identification.) The test named: Osvaldo's baptism at Muina, 14 March 1788, if it gives his mother's father. Svetvinčenat marriages, FamilySearch film 005497886, frame 98, carta 55 (image apid TH-1971-28345-30992-34). Read 30 September 2026; the place name magnified to 2.4× before transcription. --- ⭐⭐ 10 October 2026 — his father is found, and he was from Carnia. > «45 · Die 14 Martij obijt · Leonardus Defranceschi annorum septuaginta sex, provisus Sacramento Pœnitentiæ per me Marcum Bancich Parochum, sepultus vero est 15 in Arca D.ⁿⁱ Petri Defranceschi in hoc Parrochiali Ecclesia existente. ( : professionis suæ TEXTOR EX CARNIA : )» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068977, «Liber Mortuorum II», male sequence, 14 March 1773.)* This row reads «Antonio q. Leonardo de Franceschi da Gollogorizza» and marries him to «Maria figlia q. Giacomo Corva da MUINA Diocesi d'Udine» in 1785. His father Leonardus died at Gologorica house 45 on 14 March 1773, aged seventy-six, and the register calls him* «Textor ex Carnia» — a weaver, from Carnia. > A weaver from Carnia dies at Gologorica in 1773, and twelve years later his son goes back to Carnia for a wife. ⚠ This does not identify the Muina household as his kin and nothing is merged. What it does is remove the oddity from this marriage: a Gologorica man marrying a Muina woman is not a coincidence to be explained, it is a son marrying home. ⚠ The identification with the Antonio of Muina stays inf and its named test is unchanged.

No family is drawn for this name, and no record stands behind it. This archive has not placed it in a household and holds no indexed entry for it — the name reached this project through a chart, a narrative source or the family tree, and everything it does hold is below. The Register is where a record would appear if one turned up.
Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
