- Elena Surcho (Defranceschi) — dates unknown, Vitipolis, Modrus-Fiume, Magyarország
Valentino the Carnian's wife, under her own name. She married «D.num Valentinum de Franceschi ex Carnia» at St Vitus, Fiume on 28 February 1737 (film 005497925, image 168), nine months before their first child, and bore sixteen children to 1757. Every other entry in twenty years calls her only Helena or Elena jugalis Defranceschi; this is the one document that gives her a maiden name. (The surname is underlined in the register; its initial is the looped capital this hand uses for both S and Z, so Surcho, Zurcho or Turcho — probably an Italianised Žurko/Zurco. Given as read.) She stands godmother across the parish at least nine times between 1745 and 1747, and again at the font of Giuseppe × Francesca's first son in 1772. (22 Sept 2026 — magnified. The body of the word is plainly -urcho; only the capital is in doubt. Turcho was added to the list because Turco/Turcho is a common Adriatic surname and Surcho is not. None of the three is preferred.)

And the household now has a beginning: Valentino married Elena Surcho at St Vitus on 28 February 1737, nine months before the first child, and the entry calls him «D.num Valentinum de Franceschi ex Carnia» — film 005497925, image 168. …D.nus Petrus Eustachius Sauss Canonicus, præsentibus testibus Nob. D.no Petro Petrini et Nob. D.no Antonio Moretti.» «Ex Carnia» is now primary, two years before the citizenship of 1739, and Valentino's wife has a maiden name for the first time: Elena Surcho. (Initial S or Z; given as read.) But the entry names no father — Fiume marriage entries of this decade give the celebrant and the witnesses and stop there. So this join will not be made by filiation. It will be made, if at all, by finding…
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
