- Faustino di Joannes Baptista Defranceschi (fl. 1749) — about 1725, Svetvinčenat
«Patrini ad Sacrum Fontem fuere Gregorius Jurcich, et Faustino filio q.m Joannis Baptistæ Defranceschi» — 17 September 1749, at the font for Euphemia di Pietro Defranceschi 1749. Magnified and read letter by letter. He is the third grown child of the late Battista, and the first son. His sisters Antonia di Joannes Baptista Defranceschi (fl. 1743) and Anna di Joannes Baptista Defranceschi (fl. 1746) are named the same way — «filia q.m», «filia defuncti» — in 1743 and 1746. Three children identified by a dead father across six years, and not one baptism for any of them in this volume. (doc for the appearance; the sibling group is inf, on the identical formula and the single parish.) ⚠ Do not confuse him with the other Faustino. The register also carries D.us Faustinus, son of the chancellor D.nus Francisco Saverio Profumo, godfather in 1747 and 1748. That man is named by a living father and a title; this one by a dead father and none. Two Faustinos at one small castle, five years apart, and the only thing separating them is the half-line after the name. His father is not the Carnic Joannes Baptista, who is alive and standing godfather in 1744 and 1745. (inf.) A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
