Joannes Antonius Franceschi
Joannes Antonius Franceschi, 1894. Pola. Every mention of this name in the archive — 1 across 2 pages.
⭐ Born at Pola on 21 May 1894, to a mother who carried the name and no father on the page. On 31 May 1894 «Joannes Antonius» was baptised at the cathedral (house 139, Monte Serpo; baptiser Joannes Mladossich, coop. par.), «natus die 21 curr. 94» — the mother column reads «Franceschi Francisca, ex orphanotrophio Tergestino» («from the Trieste orphanage»; the last word is read «vidua» and is doubtful), the father's column is empty, the godparents are Hussich Joannes, farmer, and Antonia his wife (Pula births X, page 176, image 532 of waypoint 9R2Z-3T1, open). doc. The surname is the mother's, and a foundling-home girl's surname is very likely an invented one — the Trieste orphanage gave its charges Italian surnames — so this is the name with no known descent attached (inf; a one-name-study entry, not a claim of kin). The entry was found through the births index, 9R28-3TR image 87 (1894, «Franceschi Joannes il. Franciscae», vol. X p. 176). Not traced beyond the baptism.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
