Joannes Baptista Di Franceschi
Joannes Baptista Di Franceschi, 1842. Osoppo (Friuli) → Pola. Every mention of this name in the archive — 1 across 3 pages.
A mason from Osoppo in Friuli, at Pola from 1864 — a Defranceschi-by-sound the archive had not met. Read on the page, 16 October 2026: Pula marriage, 14 April 1884 (entry 61 of the 1882–1892 book, image): «Di Franceschi Joannes Baptista Antonii, caementator», born 1 July 1842, at «Osoppo in Provincia Utini, Italia», «at Pola already from the year 1864, Via S. Martino no. 50/54», 42, married Lucia Dobrila, 42, a servant born 30 September 1842, widow of Antonius Medich (d. Pola 19 October 1882). His parents: «Di Franceschi Joannes, now dead, mason» and «Di Cecco Pascha» (doc). Witnesses Salvador Alexander and Franciscus Marescki, masons. The spelling is «Di Franceschi» — Friulian di for Tuscan de, the same genitive plural, «of the Franceschi» — which is not one of the twelve spellings declared in names.json; collected here on the name, as the archive collects, and the ruling on whether it is the name is David's. Nothing connects him to the Gračišće or Pola Defranceschi found on this page: no shared parent, house or trade, and Osoppo is in the Friulian plain, not Carnia. Not found: no other Di Franceschi entry was noticed in the Pula civil marriages read entry by entry from January 1864 to May 1884 — so no earlier marriage of his at Pola, and none of a sibling. His status at this wedding (widower or bachelor) is not read from the cell.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
