What the archive knows

Virginija's son, and the last of the family in the house at Gračišće. > NAZARIJO ✱ 7. 02. 1939 ✝ 11. 12. 2003 — on his mother's stone, «F. DE FRANCESCHI — MARFAN», read at full resolution from David's photograph. (doc.) The 2012 American chart gives «Nazario (2/7/1939)» as one of Virginija's four children. The stone agrees to the day. He is the man the album remembers. The writer first came to Gallignana in 1972 and was received by Aunt Virginia; years later «her son Nazario and his wife Mila» gave the visiting American cousins lunch and their own wine, and the afternoon went under the grape arbour. He died on 11 December 2003, and this archive has the date because somebody drove there and read it off the stone. Recorded here as a person for the first time on 29 September 2026 — he had been written about on the eleven for weeks without ever having a record of his own.

No family is drawn for this name, and no record stands behind it. This archive has not placed it in a household and holds no indexed entry for it — the name reached this project through a chart, a narrative source or the family tree, and everything it does hold is below. The Register is where a record would appear if one turned up.
Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
