Matthei Bergovi.» — born 11 February, baptised 14 February 1745. Magnified and read letter by letter. He is named for his godfather, which is ordinary, and his godfather is «ex Cargno» — from Carnia, which is not. (doc.) Third child of Pietro de Franceschi of Svetvincenat and Jacoba, after Anna Euphemia (1738) and Euphemia (1739), and the entry that carries the couple furthest forward: seven years of one marriage, in a parish whose register hands the name Jacobo three wives in eight days. This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
