On 16 January 1788 «Maria figlia del S.r Antonio Defranceschi» married «Zuanne Contossich q.m Pietro». Not four years later a Maria, widow of a Contossich, née Defranceschi, marries again in the same small parish. The slip names her by both her married and her maiden name, which is exactly what makes the two entries lock together.…
