Bergamo
A family that married into this one.
The largest in-marrying family in the whole archive: seventeen marriages. And it goes both ways — Antonio De Franceschi married Maria Bergamo (six children, 1825–45), and Francesca Defranceschi married Giovanni Bergamo (seven children, 1831–46). Two households, one generation, two directions.
What is held
- This is also where this archive made one of its worst errors: Francisca was published as the wife of Antonius Cerneca, off a tabular register whose four parent columns the index flattens into one list. She married Bergamo. The correction stands.

Where to look next
Seventeen marriages into one family across one parish is not chance — it is two houses intermarrying for a century, which normally means neighbours or business partners. The Svetvinčenat status animarum would put both households on a street.

- Beyond the registers
- ANNO (Austrian National Library newspapers) and ALEX (the imperial Hof- und Staatshandbuch) for anyone who held office; the Vienna Kriegsarchiv for conscripts. This is the branch the archive knows best.
- Where this archive stands
- ALEX is behind a security check that will not clear for this archive. It has never been read.
