This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Brothers and sisters are not drawn here: this archive records kin against a NAME rather than against a person, so the family on a name page may belong to several different people of that name. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

What the archive knows

6 October 2026 — he had two years and no document. Now he has a register entry, to the day. Gologorica deaths, image M01069238, page 21, under the year 1802: «Idem · 29. · 17 7mbris · Antonius De=franceschi ex Loco · ann[orum] 60. · Hectica». House 29, dead 17 September 1802, aged sixty, of consumption. (doc.) ⚠ The 1742 is still the tree's year. Sixty years in September 1802 implies about 1742 and the tree says 1742 — but an implied year is not a declared one, so the birth stays as it was and only the death is now documented. ⭐ And the book's index gives him a son. Image M01069301 heads a block «Defranceschi Leonardus N.º 10» with one name under it: «Antonius Leonardi pater · 21» — Antonius, Leonardo's father. ⚠ Not to be confused with Antonio q. Leonardo, who married at Svetvinčenat in 1785 — that man is Leonardo's son. The two descriptions are mirror images and the men are a generation apart. Nothing yet joins them. See the line page. --- ⭐ 9 October 2026 — twenty years earlier than his death entry, and the first time he is seen alive. > 9 November 1782, Gologorica marriages: «...per Parochum Franceschi in facie Ecclesiæ, coram testibus nimirum Antonio Defranceschi, et Dominico Bachialab ex Novaco, et Margare[t]ha de Franceschi ex hac Parochia» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069002, the marriage register opened this week.) Everything this row held came from his burial. He is forty here, standing for a neighbour's son. ⚠ The identification is inf: the entry gives «ex hac Parochia» and no age or house, and he is the only Antonius of the name this archive places at Gologorica in that decade. ⚠ And the bride of that marriage is a warning. «Mariana filia Leonardi DEPRATO, annorum 22» — a Leonardus of the other «De—» family, raising children here in the 1760s, while the index gives this man a son Leonardus and a branch is called «detti Leonardi». The surname warning now reaches the forenames. --- ⭐⭐ 9 October, later — a THIRD book, and it gives him a father the register did not. > 17. · Mattio Benula N.º 45 — 1786 · Antonio Defranceschi, N.º 29, q. Leonardo, d'anni 60 — 1802 (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069216: the Gologorica obit calendar, under 17 September.) Same day, same year, same age, same house 29 as the burial entry on this row — so this entry is a control, and it passes. Which is what licenses the calendar's uncheckable readings elsewhere on this page. ⭐ AND IT ADDS «q. LEONARDO» — son of the late Leonardo, which the Latin burial entry does not say. ⚠ That sits awkwardly with what this row already says, and both are left standing. This row reads the death book's index — «Defranceschi Leonardus N.º 10 … Antonius Leonardi pater» — as making him Leonardo's father. The calendar makes him Leonardo's son. They need not conflict. A man born about 1742 can be the son of one Leonardo and the father of another — and this archive holds a Leonardus Defranceschi born 1766, which is exactly a son for him. Grandfather, father, grandson, with the names alternating, is the commonest shape there is in this village. ⚠ But it is a reading, not a record, and no descent is attached on the strength of it.* ⚠ And it touches the 1774 marriage. That groom is «q.ᵐ Leonardi filius» too. So the archive now has two men described as sons of a late Leonardo, which is a reason to be slower about the 1774 identification rather than faster. ⭐ 11 October 2026 — two dated appearances IN LIFE. This row had only a death. > 14 Januarij 1780 · «patrini fuerunt Antonius Defranceschi ex hac Parochia, et Anna uxor Gregorij Babich» > 27 Maij 1780 · «patrini fuerunt Antonius Defranceschi, et Catharina uxor Matthæi Crosgnich, uterque ex hac Parochia» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068939, «Liber Baptizatorum II».) He was thirty-seven or thereabouts and standing at fonts in his own parish. ⚠ No parentage, house or trade is attached in either entry, and none is inferred.
