the direct line, argued on the line

This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Brothers and sisters are not drawn here: this archive records kin against a NAME rather than against a person, so the family on a name page may belong to several different people of that name. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

One relationship on this chart was never date-tested. This archive refuses a relative whose years do not fit — more than six out for a child, outside twelve to sixty for a parent. Where one side has no year at all that test cannot run, and the link is drawn on the name. It is shown because most people in the early registers carry no year, and refusing them would empty the chart of the centuries this archive exists to show. It is counted here because a line nothing tested is a weaker claim than a line that passed, and the chart cannot tell them apart.

What the archive knows

Married Marc'Antonio Jacomini at Svetvinčenat on 17 October 1773, and in doing so gave this archive its first pair of siblings of the name at the castle-town. > «Mar[c]-Antonius Jacomini filius Andreae … et Fusca filia q. Mathiae de Franceschi Parochiana huius Ecclesiae, dispensatis a denunciationibus, per verba de presenti … per me D. Michaele Luciani ex commissione Parochi, addita B[enedictio]ne, Testes D. Antonius de Franceschi, ac Mathias Santalera.» Seven years earlier, in the same register, Elena married as «figlia di q. Mattio de Franceschi». Same dead father, same parish. Fusca and Elena de Franceschi Sandalezza are sisters — the joining is inference, but it would take two dead Mattios de Franceschi in one small parish to break it. (doc for the marriage; inf for the sisterhood.) Antonio the bell-ringer stands witness at her wedding, which is the closest thing the register offers to a link between the two households of the name. It is not a statement of kinship and is not treated as one. See Antonio de Franceschi, witness 1773 and Mattio de Franceschi.

No one else in this archive carries this name.
