This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

What the archive knows

Seven years old, and smallpox took him on 10 September 1789. > «Idem · [domus] 31 · 10 7bris [1789] · JOH: DEFRAN-CESCHI, fil. Ther[esiæ] · annorum 7 · Pustulla» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069231, page 8 of the Gologorica death register.) Born about 1782. Nothing in this archive recorded him but his death. ⭐ He is named for his mother. «fil. Theriæ» — son of Theresia. The archive knows one Theresia of house 31: Theresia née Grach, the wife whose family raised the Krbune question. So this is her son. ⚠ Why a mother and not a father is not known — every other child on the page is «ex Loco» or «filius [N.]» — and it is recorded because it is unusual, not because it is understood. Nine days later the other Defranceschi house buried a boy of five. The page is an epidemic.
