The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

Named once, as a godmother, at Pola on 27 October 1872: «Maria, vedova di Domenico Franceschi», with «Pancovich Giovanni», at the baptism of Gasparo Giovanni Antonio, born 18 October, son of «Skoblar Gaspare di Giorgio, i. r. sergente» and Lucia Maria of Zara (Pula births 1869–75, Liber VII, p. 350, entry 468, image 592 of waypoint 9R2X-SP8, open; doc; the surname read at level 13, plain «Franceschi»). Who she is is not settled. The archive holds a Montona household of the adjacent name — Domenico Franceschini q. Giorgio, muratore, and Maria Miletich q. Tommaso of Pola, four children baptised at Pola 1857–63 — and the widow of 1872 may be that Maria with the diminutive dropped (inf, weak: the same book writes «Franceschini» in full on pp. 253 and 265); she may as well be the widow of another Domenico. The same font names a «Maria Franceschini» as godmother on 23 November 1871 (p. 265), on 19 January 1873 (p. 369, entry 33, level 13) and on 21 June 1873 (p. 405, entry 256, in Latin, level 13), which leans toward one woman, the widow Maria Franceschini (inf). The row is not merged with any other. No dates are claimed for her. Told in the Pula section.
