The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

Maria, daughter of Matteo Defranceschi and Maddalena Percovich, of house 17 — married Martino Mocorich at Ližnjan on 23 February 1848, she «Maria fu Matteo Defranceschi, sub H.17», single, aged 32 as read; he a widower of 40 at house 41, son of Martino Mocorich and Maria Micalevich (Ližnjan marriages, page 15, image 11 of waypoint 9R2Z-44C, open)). doc — the bride's parents are written «Matteo Defranceschi e Maddalena Perkovich», and the «fu» in her own cell is her father, already dead. Mother, by Martino Mocorich fu Martino, of Filomena, baptised 3 March 1849 (births page 58, image 28 of waypoint 9R2Z-44D, open), doc. Which Maria she is: 32 in 1848 means born about 1816, and the births book holds a [Maria born and baptised 15 October 1816 to «Mattio de Franceschi d.to ma-[?]ulich» and Madalena](/person/maria-de-franceschi-1816/) (read on the page, doc) — inf that this is she. She is not the Maria baptised in 1821, who would have been 27: either the book had two living sisters of the name, or the age is misread; the 1821 Maria's fate is not found.
