This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

What the archive knows

Dead before 9 February 1766, and known only because his daughter married. The marriage entry calls her «Elena figlia di q[uondam] Mattio de Franceschi, nativa di questo Castello» — quondam being the whole of what is recorded about him. He is the ninth man of the name at the castle and no birth, marriage or burial of his has been found. This archive already carries a Mattio De Franceschi born 1674 and another born 1690 at Svetvinčenat, from the household and tree sources. A man dying before 1766 could be either, or neither, and none of the three is merged here — the marriage gives a forename and a death-before date, which is not enough to join a person to a person. (doc for the fact of his death; the identification is open.) He has a second daughter, and so his household has a shape. On 17 October 1773 the same register marries «Fusca filia q. Mathiae de Franceschi Parochiana huius Ecclesiae» to Marc'Antonio Jacomini. Elena in 1766 and Fusca de Franceschi in 1773 are both daughters of a dead Mattio de Franceschi of this parish — two entries, seven years apart, in one volume. (doc for each entry; that the two fathers are one man is inf, and it would take two dead Mattios in one small parish to break it.) He remains recorded only through his children's weddings.

No one else in this archive carries this name.
