The family

Victor Josephus Defranceschi1862 – 1866
the direct line, argued on the line

This chart is the direct line and nothing else. Brothers and sisters are not drawn here: this archive records kin against a NAME rather than against a person, so the family on a name page may belong to several different people of that name. Where it is drawn it is read from the direct line, person by person.

What the archive knows

Born 22 April 1862, baptised on the 27th, at house 7. Gologorica baptisms, folio 123 (M01069137): «VICTOR JOSEPHUS natus 22 Aprilis», of «Franciscus Xav. Defranceschi, POSSESSOR» and «Clotildis Ortis»; godparents «Natalis Stefanovich» and «Maria Defranceschi», both cives; baptised by Blasius Zwölber, Administrator. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214.)* This archive held the year off the pedigree and nothing else. House 7 is the number the 1826 census gives his grandfather Josephus — the same house as his sister Anna Maria Francisca, baptised there eighteen months before. ⚠ His father is entered «possessor» — a holder of property, where this family is elsewhere civis. One word on one line is not an estate, and nothing is built on it. ⚠ A bare dagger stands above his name with no date beside it. The later keeper's sweep through this book is partial and an undated cross says only that somebody meant to come back. --- ⭐ 6 October 2026 — and now the other end of him. > Gologorica deaths, image M01069284, page 109: «1866 Septemb. 11 · 7 · Victor Josephus Defranceschi, cives, sep. die 12. Sep. · 4 ann · Typhus» Dead at four, of typhus, at house 7, buried the next day. This archive held the day already; the walk of the death register adds the cause and the «cives». (doc.) ⚠ Typhus is in this book three times in four years — a man of 27 in October 1863, a boy of 15 in January 1865, and this child. Not an epidemic on the register's own evidence, but a presence — and it took the one Defranceschi of his generation at house 7.
