Pomer
Lucia Defranceschi and Matthaeus Lazar, six children, and a daughter's wedding that closed the circle.
Pomer sits on the bay south-east of Pula. It was one of twenty-one towns found on 13 September 2026 to be in this archive's register but not in its atlas — on the strength of three rows, all spelt Defrančichi, none of them ours. It has a De Franceschi family in it after all.
Lucia Defranceschi × Matthaeus Lazar — the name written Lazaro, Lazar and Lazar by three hands. Antonius Matheus 1870 · Matheus 1873 · Jacobus 1875 · Zorica «or Albina» 1880 · Josephus 1882 · Catharina 1884.
And the entry that found her: the wedding of her daughter Catharina Lazar to Joannes Zuccon, which had to name the bride's mother and so named Lucia. That is the exact mechanism this archive's «lost daughters» queue was built on — a woman of the name recoverable only because somebody else's marriage needed her in it.
She was one of three different women the index files under «Lucia Defranceschi». The other two are at Vodnjan and Ližnjan.
