What the archive knows

Born at Pola on 3 August 1872, baptised on the 18th — the son of «Klagnan Angelo fu Pietro da Pedoglia di Monfalcone, muratore» and «Delise Maria fu Giovanni da Rovigno» (Pula births 1869–75, Liber VII, p. 332, entry 359, image 583 of waypoint 9R2X-SP8, open; doc). A margin note records that he was legitimated by his parents' marriage, «… 4/11 1872» (read at level 13, the day and month only; inf). The younger brother of Dominica Francisca Clagnan, who married the chimney sweep Joannes Baptista Defranceschi (h047). Not of the name; kept because he is the wife's brother. Told in the Pula section.

No family is drawn for this name, and no record stands behind it. This archive has not placed it in a household and holds no indexed entry for it — the name reached this project through a chart, a narrative source or the family tree, and everything it does hold is below. The Register is where a record would appear if one turned up.
Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
