Joanna Maria Zuban
Joanna Maria Zuban, 1890. Pola. Every mention of this name in the archive — 1 across 3 pages.
Born 11 January 1890, baptised at the Pola cathedral on 20 April 1890 (house 246, Abbazia): the second child, as far as this archive knows, of Leopolda Defranceschi and Emericus Zuban. The entry reads «Zuppan Henricus [«Emericus» struck through, «Henricus» written above] Matthaei, faber lignarius, e Pyrrhano» and «Defranceschi Leopolda, Antonii, e Gallignana»; sponsors «Angelovich Joannes, ex-subofficialis marinae» and «Calavar Maria»; midwife Zimprich Maria (Pula births 1887–96, Liber IX, p. 384, entry 261, image 221 of waypoint 9R2Z-3T1, open; doc). A margin note, partly under a stamp: «nupsit Gaspari… Pola… 3.VIII.1914» — she married at Pola on 3 August 1914, the husband's name not read with certainty (doc for the note). The father's forename is the point: the 1888 marriage entry and Petrus Matthaeus's baptism both give «Emericus»; here the scribe wrote «Emericus» and struck it through for «Henricus» — so the scribe was correcting him, and the family's own name for him is not settled (inf). The trade is «faber lignarius» (carpenter), as in the 1888 marriage entry and not as in Petrus's baptism («faber ferrarius»). Not of the name's surname; kept because her mother is a Defranceschi.
3 of the 3 relationships drawn above are written in a register this archive has read with its own eyes.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
