- Joannes Petrus Defranceschi (bapt. 1780) — 1780, Gologorica
- Joannes Petrus Defranceschi — dates unknown, Gologorica
⭐ 7 October 2026 — two dated appearances, and a child named after him. This row carried no note at all. > 12 March 1747, Gračišće baptisms (M01070137): «Patrini fuerunt Joannes Petrus de Franceschi nec non Joanna uxor Judicis Joannis Salamon» — at the baptism of Franciscus Gregorius, son of Judge Ignatius Martinich and Lucia. (doc.) This archive already held him standing for the same couple's daughter on 5 May 1744, folio 160 of the previous book, beside «Mattia uxor Suppani Joannis Grach». ⭐⭐ And on 2 April 1750 that couple christened a son «Joannes Petrus» — with «Josephus de Franceschi Gollagoriciensis» standing. They named the child after him. ⚠ No parents, age or house are attached to him on any of the three entries, and none is inferred here. The story is told in full on the line page. ⭐ 7 October, later — and the sweep of the whole book puts him in company. Six Defranceschi appear in sixty-two years of Gračišće baptisms and every one is a godparent; five are labelled «of Gologorica». Four of the six stand for the same family of village judges — Ignatius Martinich in 1744, 1747, 1750 and 1752, and Franciscus Martinich in 1783. --- ⭐⭐ 9 October 2026 — this row said «no parents, age or house are attached to him on any of the three entries». A fourth entry gives two of the three. > 8. · Sig.ʳ Giovanni Pietro Defranceschi, N.º 36, d'anni 86½ — 1781 (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069216: the Gologorica obit calendar, under 8 September.) «Giovanni Pietro» is «Joannes Petrus», in the Italian the Gologorica books use for their index. An age of 86½ in September 1781 puts his birth about March 1695 — so he was 49, 52 and 55 at the three Gračišće fonts, which is exactly the age of a man asked to stand for a village judge's children. And it gives him a house: N.º 36, the senior Defranceschi door at Gologorica. ⚠ inf, and not merged with the tree row that carries 1695–1781. Nothing in this entry names the godparent of Gračišće; the join rests on a distinctive double forename, one parish and an age that fits. A moved or merged id is a dead URL, and both rows carry the argument. --- ⭐ 10 October — the contemporary death entry, and it names his tomb. > «36. · Die 8 Septembris obijt · Dominus Joannes Petrus Defranceschi annorum 86, mensium 4, provisus in sua infirmitate Sacramentis Pœnitentiæ, Eucharistiæ et Extremæ Unctionis per me Marcum Bancich Parochum hujus Loci; sepultus est 9 in propria Arca ejusdem, per D.ⁿᵘᵐ Carolum Covas, Canonicum» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068980, «Liber Mortuorum II», male sequence, 8 September 1781.)* Yesterday's join of this row to the tree row was made from the obit calendar, a copy of 1800. The register itself gives the same day, the same house 36, and an age of «86, mensium 4». ⭐⭐ And he owned the family tomb. «sepultus est 9 in propria Arca ejusdem» — and Leonardus the weaver was buried in 1773 «in Arca D.ⁿⁱ Petri Defranceschi», eight years before its owner. ⚠ How the two men were related is not stated and is not guessed. The join of this row to the tree row remains inf.* ⭐ 11 October 2026 — a fourth appearance, seventeen years after the third, and this time in his own parish. > 11 Martij 1767 · «patrini fuerunt D.ⁿᵘˢ Joannes Petrus Defranceschi et Helena uxor D.ⁿⁱ Josephi Defranceschi» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068922, Gologorica «Liber Baptizatorum II».) The three entries this row already held are 1744, 1747 and 1750, all at Gračišće. This is Gologorica, and it is 1767. ⚠ It is consistent with this row and «Sig.ʳ Giovanni Pietro Defranceschi, d'anni 86½», dead 1781, being one man — he would be seventy-two here, and «Dominus» is the Latin of «Sig.ʳ». It does not prove it, and the rows are still not joined.
This archive holds 3 other pages under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
