What the archive knows

⭐⭐⭐ DOCUMENTED 12 October 2026, and her full name is not what the archive had. She was one of seventeen Ližnjan people resting on the family tree and no document, carrying «1879–1952» and nothing else. Ližnjan «Liber Baptizatorum», page 56, entry 22 of 1879, house 61, baptised by D. G. Smak, paroch.: > «Magdalena Justina — nat. 3. Octobr. curr., hora circ. 3 pomer.» — of «Gregorius Defranceschi», fil. Gregorii q. Georgii et Agathæ, and «Maria Vojnić», n. Perkovič, agric. Her name in the book is MAGDALENA JUSTINA. The tree gave only «Justina». ⭐ AND THE MARGIN GIVES HER DEATH TO THE DAY, written later in Croatian beside her baptism: > «Umrla u Ližnjanu dana 18. V. 1952 (mat. knj. umrlih str. 36 d. 2/52 Ližnjan.)» — died at Ližnjan 18 May 1952, and the note cites the death register's own page 36, entry 2/52. The tree's «1952» was right, and is now a date. This is the same thing the Gologorica baptism margins do — a baptism book standing in for a register the reels do not hold. ⭐ She is the sister of the twins. Her parents and her house are those of Maria and Anastasia, born 20 February 1875 and dead together on the 22nd. Gregorius Defranceschi and Maria Vojnić of house 61 buried twin daughters four years before this one was born, and the index shows another Maria to them in 1878. Waypoint 9R2Z-44D, frame 72. (doc — the baptism register of the parish, read at the page, with its own margin.)

No family is drawn for this name, and no record stands behind it. This archive has not placed it in a household and holds no indexed entry for it — the name reached this project through a chart, a narrative source or the family tree, and everything it does hold is below. The Register is where a record would appear if one turned up.
Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
