- Maria Matthia De Franceschi — 1784, Svetvinčenat
The act, read off the leaf — not the index of it. Frame 106 of the Svetvinčenat baptism register 1764–1791: > «Anno Dni 1784 Die 4 Septembris. Maria Matthia filia legitima, ac naturalis Victorii, et Euphemiæ jugalium De Franceschi, nata 3 currentis, hodie per me subscriptum baptizata. Patrini fuere Stephanus Dubglich a Dimino, et Dna Antonia Fachinetti.» Born 3 September 1784, baptised 4 September. Daughter of Vittorio de Franceschi, son of Antonio and Euphemia de Franceschi 1783 — and therefore Antonio the bell-ringer's granddaughter, the third generation of the name this archive can follow at the castle. (doc.) Her godfather comes from Dvigrad; her godmother, Dna Antonia Fachinetti, carries the honorific and a name from the parish's gentry. This entry is what turns a marriage from inference into record. Until it was read, «Vittorio × Euphemia» rested on the FamilySearch index of this same act — a transcription of a page nobody here had seen. (doc.)

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
