What the archive knows

⭐⭐⭐ She married three Defranceschi brothers in succession, and this archive did not have her at all. > Gologorica Status Animarum 1862, household 6 (M01069446): «Rosa uxor n. Salamon» · n. 13 Aug 1854 · d. 17/6 1898 > Matrimonii, three numbered dates: «I. 18 Febr. 1878» · «II. 5 Febr. 1883» · «III. 26 Oct. 1887» > Profectus: «Vidua † Joanis» — widow of the late Joannes The three dates are the marriages of three sons of Antonius Defranceschi (1814–1893) and Francisca née Defranceschi: Joannes Baptista (1842–1880), Franciscus (1854–1884), and Antonius (b. 1855). Widowed twice before she was thirty-four, and both times she married the next brother. ✔ The clerk writes it out himself on the following line — «Defranceschi Antonius … Antonii, III. vir Rosae n. Salamon» — and Antonius's row in the parent household carries «za Ružo Defranceschi n. Salamon». Told here. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069446, Gologorica Status Animarum 1862.)

No family is drawn for this name — this archive has not placed it in a household and holds no indexed entry that names it beside anybody else. A record does stand behind it: the one below, not joined to any household. The Register is where an index entry would appear if one turned up.
The same name, written another way

This archive holds 1 other page under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

Ruža “Rosa” Defranceski

Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

No prose mention yet

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
