What the archive knows

⭐⭐ Married at Gologorica on 9 June 1774, and the entry names her father and the priest who married her. > «45ᵃ Joannes Baptista Defranceschi q.ᵐ Leonardi filius, professionis suæ Textor, copulatus est cum Virgine Theresia, filia Antonij Grah ex Parochia Cherbune, à Rev.ᵐᵒ D.ⁿᵒ Archipresbytero et Parocho Cherbunensi Joanne Grah, in facie Ecclesiæ coram testibus ibidem notatis.» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068999, the Gologorica marriage register 1770–1789 — a book located in the frame map on 30 September and read for the first time on 9 October 2026.) This row carried no note, no dates and no source of any kind. It now carries a dated event, a father and a parish. - Her father: ANTONIUS GRAH, of the parish of Cherbune — Krbune, four kilometres away. New to this archive. - She married as «Virgine», a maiden — so this was her first marriage. - The priest who married her was JOANNES GRAH, archpriest and parish priest of Krbune — the same office, and this archive believes the same man, who stood godfather to her son Franciscus Antonius eleven years later as «Archipresbiter Grach». The archive had him by office and surname only and was planning a letter to a diocesan archive to get his forename. ⚠ She still has no birth, no death and no age. Nothing here supplies them. Her husband's household is casa 31, and the story is told on the line page. --- ⭐ Her eldest known child, found the same evening. > 45 · «Joannes Petrus Defranceschi, filius legitimus Joannis Bapt[istæ] Defranceschi et ejus uxoris Theresiæ» — 2 July 1780 (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068965, Gologorica baptisms, 2 July 1780.)* Six years after her marriage, and the earliest of her children this archive holds — before Franciscus Antonius in 1785 and the Joannes Baptista of 1787. The son is here. ⚠ The entry names her only as «ejus uxoris Theresiæ» — no maiden name, no age. --- ⭐⭐ 11 October 2026 — a daughter, and she went home to Krbune to have her. > 15.ᵃ Martij 1776 · «Josepha Mariana filia legitima Joannis Baptistæ ejusque uxoris Theresiæ, nata et baptizata ad Cherbunam per R.ᵈᵘᵐ D.ⁿᵘᵐ Joannem Jadreicich, Capellanum Cherbunensem, de licentia … Archipresbyteri Joannis Grah» (DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068934.) Twenty-one months after her wedding she bears her first recorded child in her own parish, and the archpriest who married her gives the leave for its baptism. The child is the Mariana who died at house 31 in 1786 aged ten. Told in full here. ⭐⭐ And she is a godmother four times — twice beside her own husband, who is named «q.ᵐ Leonardi» in the same clause.

26 Sep 1777«patrini fuerunt Josephus Flegar, et Theresia uxor Joannis Baptistæ Defranceschi» (M01068936)
7 Oct 1777the same pair again (M01068937)
26 Jan 1779«Joannes Baptista Defranceschi q.ᵐ Leonardi, et Theresia uxor ejusdem» (M01068938)
28 Mai 1779«Joannes Baptista Defranceschi et Theresia uxor ejusdem» (M01068938)
The marriage register is no longer the only document joining those two names. Told here. ⭐ And a baptism register writes her maiden surname as part of her name. > 16 Januarij 1784 · «patrini fuere Dominus Joannes Bapta de Franceschi et THERESIA DEFRANCESCHI NATA GRACH, ambo ex hac Parochia» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068943, «Liber Baptizatorum II».) Until now «Grah» came only from her marriage entry. Ten years after the wedding the parish still writes it. ⭐ A fourth child: 12 August 1787. «natum ex Joanne Baptista et Teresia Defranceschj, conjugibus hujus Parochiæ, professione Textor. Cui nomen impositum est Joannes Bapta» (M01068946). Told here. --- ⭐⭐⭐ 11 October 2026 — a sixth godmother appearance, eighteen years later than any other, and the register puts her AT GALLIGNANA. > Gologorica baptisms, 25 January 1805, house 70 (M01069047), at the baptism of «Dominica Selesco ex Doll.»: > Patrini «Joseph: Baddetich fil: q. Johan» — conditio «gollogʒ.» > «Theresia grach Defranceschi uxor Joh: Baptistæ» — conditio «ex galligʒ.» In 1784 the same kind of cell called the couple «ambo ex hac Parochia». This one calls her of Gallignana — Gračišće. The two place-words stand one above the other in a single cell, in one hand, and were compared at one magnification: g-o-llo-g against g-a-lli-g. Neighbouring openings write «ex gallignana» out in full. ⚠ This does not move her place. It is one clerk's note in a Conditio Patrinorum column, and nothing else in this archive puts her at Gallignana. It is recorded because it is the first thread running from the Gologorica casa 31 household to the second Defranceschi population at Gračišće — and she is the Grah. Told here. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069047.)*

No family is drawn for this name, and no record stands behind it. This archive has not placed it in a household and holds no indexed entry for it — the name reached this project through a chart, a narrative source or the family tree, and everything it does hold is below. The Register is where a record would appear if one turned up.
Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
