The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

His baptism entry, found 5 October 2026 — and the register calls him ENRICHUS. «Die 28va Martii [1830] · ENRICHUS JACOBUS DEFRANCESCHI natus 11ma Martii hora 5ta Mane» — born 11 March 1830 at five in the morning, baptised on the 28th, by Franciscus Brussich, parochus, of «Dnus Josephus Defranceschi, Civilis» and «Domina Lambertina ejusdem uxor nata Pesle». Godparents «Giacomo Giacich» and «Jos.a Teresa Giacich»; midwife «Marianna uxor Stanislai Rabar». (doc — Gologorica baptisms 1784–1880 — DAPA microfilm ZM34K-214, M01069102, folio 89.) The date this archive already held is confirmed to the hour. That is verification, not discovery. What it did not have was the page, the priest, the godparents or the midwife. The form without the H is the family's own: the register writes Enrichus, and so does the 1826 status animarum of house 7, which lists him among the ten children. «Henricus Jacobus» came in off the family tree. The id is minted and frozen and is not moved for a spelling — a moved id is a dead URL. ⭐ And his entry is where this archive noticed that the book counts houses twice. The Domus cell is written, struck through with a diagonal and replaced by 104. The first reading was that this settled why his family appears under both 17 and 104 — and that reading was dropped, because the next four folios show the same doubled cell on entries belonging to seven other families. From 1830 the register carries two house numbers; by 1831 every entry on a page does. What the second series is has not been established. Worklist 171 holds it, and the 1830 section prints the table. Seventeen days from birth to font, where his brother Maximilianus was baptised the day after he was born. The longest gap this family shows. ⭐ And he turns up alive, twenty-two years on. Gologorica baptisms, 13 March 1852, folio 113 (M01069127): the godparents of Joannes Junco's child are «ENRICO DEFRANCESCHI et soror Adelaidis», entered cives. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214.)* Two days past his twenty-second birthday, at Gologorica, of age and chosen to stand at the font — where this archive had him as a name with a death at Trieste in 1906 and nothing in between. And the register calls him ENRICO. Three hands now — the 1826 census, his own baptism, and this — and not one of them writes the H. ⭐ And in 1868 he stands for both his brother's twin daughters. Gologorica baptisms, 31 May 1868, house 7 (M01069147, folio 134): godfather to Maria Henrica and to Clotildis Adelaidis, the second time beside his sister «Adelaidis Defranceschi», the pair entered possidentes. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214.)* The elder twin is named HENRICA. A man whose own name this archive has been spelling with an H the register never uses, giving that name to his niece.
