The family
No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.
What the archive knows
doc for the entry. inf — strong — that he is the Joannes baptised at Gračišće house 5 on 30 June 1833, son of Joan. Bapt. Defranceschi and Francisca Salomon (h116): the mother's name and surname, the village and the surname agree, and his brother Franciscus Liberatus (b. 1840) married at Pula three years earlier with the same parents named. Two points do not agree and are stated, not smoothed: the father is written «Franz» where Gračišće and the 1868 and 1875 Pula entries have Joannes Baptista; and the age is 34, three years under the baptism. The Pula civil marriage books read for 1864–1901 have no marriage of his: he married in the naval parish, which is why the civil read did not find him. Nothing is yet known of Paula or of children; his death is not found. No one else in this archive carries this name.
