The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

⭐ Her row was a name, two years and nothing else. She now has one document, and it is from the last full year of her life. > 9 November 1782, Gologorica marriages: «...coram testibus nimirum Antonio Defranceschi, et Dominico Bachialab ex Novaco, et Margare[t]ha de Franceschi ex hac Parochia» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069002, the Gologorica marriage register, opened this week.) She is standing as a named witness at a neighbour's wedding in her own parish, and she is dead within five months. ⚠ This sentence first said «thirty-five», then «fourteen months»; both were arithmetic off a bare tree year, and [the register has since given her an age of 22. ⚠ This sentence first said «fourteen months», which was arithmetic off a bare tree year; her actual date was found hours later and is below.* ⚠ This is the whole of her, and the rest of this row is not evidence. The 1747 and the 1783 came off a family tree and no register in this archive has confirmed either. The entry gives her no age, no house and no father, so it cannot confirm them and does not. ⚠ The identification is inf — she is the only Margarita of the name this archive places at Gologorica in that decade, and the entry says only «ex hac Parochia». ⚠ Nor is it established whether she was born a Defranceschi or married one; the register writes her «de Franceschi» and stops. ⚠ Women witness routinely in this register — the 1774 entries name two among the testes — so nothing is read into her standing there except that she was there. What would settle her: the Gologorica death register for 1783. The book covering 1646–1806 is M01069199–M01069223 on the reel the family holds, and it has never been read. --- # ⭐⭐⭐ THE SAME DAY — HER DEATH, HER FATHER AND HER HOUSE > 20. · Lorenzo Cirich — 1701 · Mattio Muca Possin — 1705 · Margarita figlia q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe Defranceschi, N.º 36 — 1783 (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069209: the Gologorica obit calendar, under 20 April.) She died on 22 April 1783 — ⚠ the calendar, copied in 1800, says the 20th; the contemporary register says the 22nd. This row's 1783 came off a family tree; it now has a day, from a register index.
her father«q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe Defranceschi» — the late Signor Giuseppe, already dead in April 1783. inf: the archive holds a Josephus Defranceschi who died in 1782, styled «Dominus», which fits the «Sig.ʳ» and the «q.»
her houseN.º 36 — the house of Joannes Baptista and Catharina, and of Sancta, the spinster of fifty-eight who died there in 1792
⭐ and she is «figlia»so she was BORN a Defranceschi. This row raised that as an open question this afternoon — «nor is it established whether she was born a Defranceschi or married one» — and the register has answered it.
⚠ AND IT CORRECTS THIS ROW'S OWN ARITHMETIC. Above, this row said she stood witness on 9 November 1782 and was «dead within fourteen months». That was computed from a bare tree year with no month in it. It was five months and eleven days. Published on the corrections page, because a sentence written in the morning and disproved in the afternoon by this archive's own reading is exactly the kind that otherwise stands. ⚠ Still no age on her, so the tree's 1747 is untouched and unconfirmed; the entry gives a father, a house and a day and nothing more. ⭐ And later the same day, a probable mother. A «Signora Ellena, vedova q. Gius.ᵉ Defranceschi, d'anni 84» died at house 36 on 26 August 1804. Margarita is «figlia q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe Defranceschi» at the same house. inf — on the husband's forename and the door, and nothing else; the entries never name each other. --- # ⭐⭐⭐ 10 October — THE CONTEMPORARY REGISTER, and it corrects this row twice over > «Die 22. Aprilis anno 1783. Margaretta Ancilla annorum 22, mensium 9, filia Josephi et Hellenæ jugalium de Franceschi, provisa Sacramentis omnibus in sua infirmitate a me Parocho; obdormivit in Domino, cujus corpus die 25 ejusdem mensis sepultum est in Arca Parentuum per R.ᵐᵘˢ Archipresbiterum et Parochum CHERBUNÆ D.ⁿᵘˢ Joanes Gràch.» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068991, «Liber Mortuorum II», 22 April 1783.)*
died22 April 1783 — not the 20th; the obit calendar, copied in 1800, is two days out
buried25 April, in Arca Parentuum — in her parents' tomb, inside the church
age22 years, 9 months → born about July 1760. ⚠ The tree's 1747 is thirteen years out
mother«filia Josephi et Hellenæ jugalium de Franceschi» — Hellena is now doc, not* inf
buried byJoannes Grach, Archpriest and Parish Priest of KRBUNE
⭐⭐ The man who buried her is the archpriest who married Theresia at Gologorica in 1774 and stood godfather at a Gologorica font in 1785. Three appearances in eleven years, all at Gologorica, all for this family. A neighbouring parish's archpriest does not cross four kilometres three times by accident. ⚠ «Ancilla» is recorded as the register writes it and not interpreted. The word means a maidservant, which sits oddly on a daughter of a «Dominus»; it is capitalised like a name. This archive does not know which it is and has not let either reading into the row. ⚠ And the register does not call her father dead. «filia Josephi et Hellenæ jugalium», no «quondam» — where the 1800 calendar writes «figlia q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe» and the tree killed him in 1782. ✔✔ RESOLVED 11 Oct 2026 — the register buries him at the end of 1787 and the register was right. ✔ And her house is 36, *from a cancelled duplicate of her entry in the men's sequence — agreeing with the 1800 calendar and with where her mother died in 1804. Three sources, one door. --- ⭐ 11 October 2026 — alive at a font, a year and three weeks before she dies. > 30 Martij 1782, Sabbato Sancto · «Patrini fuerunt Joannes Baptista filius Josephi de Franceschi et Margarita ejusdem filia, ambo ex hac Parochia» (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01068941, «Liber Baptizatorum II», in the hand of Joannes Mathias Franceschi, Canonicus et Parochus.) This row had her death — 22 April 1783, «figlia q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe Defranceschi, N.º 36» — and nothing from her life. Here she is standing beside her brother, and the entry names their father, which the obit calendar's «q.» could only do for a dead man. ⚠⚠ And the attribution of her father is under more strain. A «Dominus Josephus Defranceschi» stands as godfather on 16 December 1783 (M01068943) — eight months after this row's death entry calls her father «q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe Defranceschi». The archive also holds a Guiseppe of 1723–1787 who was alive then and would fit the godfather. ⚠ Nothing is changed. The objection was already on the record; this is one more fact pressing on it. Told here. ✔✔ AND THE «jugalium» FLAG IS DISCHARGED — the register was right and the calendar was wrong. This row has carried, since 10 October, a flag that the contemporary entry writes «filia Josephi et Hellenæ jugalium» with no «quondam», against the 1800 calendar's «figlia q. Sig.ʳ Giuseppe». > 36 · «Die 30… anno quo supra [1787] · Obijt Josephus de Franceschj, MERCATOR, ætatis suæ annorum 64» (M01068984) Her father outlived her by four and a half years. The calendar is wrong twice about this woman — two days on her date and a «q.» on her father — and it is a copy made about 1800.
