What the archive knows

⭐⭐ A WIFE OF THE NAME THIS ARCHIVE DID NOT HOLD — read on the page, 12 October 2026. Ližnjan «Liber Defunctorum», page 101, entry 23 of 1888, house 75: > «Mort. 17 Augusti, Sep. 19 ejusdem, 1888» — «Fusca uxor Antonii Defranceschi nata Lazarić» — «an. 67» · «naturalis ordin.» · «nat. 30/4 1821» · D. Greg. Smak, par. Fusca, wife of Antonius Defranceschi, born Lazarić: born 30 April 1821, died 17 August 1888 aged 67, buried on the 19th, of natural causes. The three figures check each other — born 1821, died 1888, age 67. ⚠ She was in this archive's own files the whole time, and nobody took her up. register.json holds her as lead XQM3-P992, which the index garbled into «Antonii Defranceschi Or Lazarić» — a flattened parent list that the page resolves at once into uxor … nata. She is one of three Ližnjan people found this week sitting as unused leads, and the gate now checks for that. ⚠ Her birth year was deliberately left empty when this row was minted, because that session stopped before reaching the Ætas column and an index is not a document. It was filled only after going back to the page and reading it. ⭐⭐ HER MARRIAGE, AND HER BIRTHPLACE, found 12 October in the marriage book. Ližnjan «Liber Copulatorum», page 22, entry 168: > «1 Junii 1861» · house 59 · SPONSUS «Antonius Defranceski q. Matthæi, agr.», catholic, Ætas 41, Viduus · SPONSA «Fosca nata Lazarić q. Simeonis, V[idu]a q. Antonii Mohorić agr., nata e Medolino» — «nata e Medolino»: born at Medulin, the next parish. And both were widowed: he «Viduus», she «vidua q. Antonii Mohorić». Before 1861 she was a Mohorić, which is why she appears in no earlier Defranceschi entry. Her father was Simeon Lazarić, dead by 1861. Waypoint 9R2Z-4WG, frame 54. (doc — the burial register of the parish, read at the page.)

Where this comes from

6 of the 6 relationships drawn above are written in a register this archive has read with its own eyes.

Joined on a name alone. One household above could not be date-checked, because this archive holds no year for the person or for the household. Treat that link as a lead.

The same name, written another way

This archive holds 3 other pages under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

No prose mention yet

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
