Maria Trompich or Fumpich (Cincopan)
Maria Trompich or Fumpich (Cincopan). Gračišće. Every mention of this name in the archive — 2 across 3 pages.
Named as the bride's mother, and the two surviving copies of the act do not agree on her surname. The marriage of Rotilio Defranceschi and Albina Cincopan was requested by the Comune di Pisino and published at Trieste in April 1928. Both the request and the Trieste transcription of it survive, and they give her differently:
| copy | reads |
|---|---|
| Trieste, Marriage Proclamation Records 1928 | «e di Trompich Maria, di professione casalinga» |
| Pisino request no. 46, in the Trieste banns supplements | «e di Fumpich Maria o di professione casa Linga» |

The Defranceschi Archive
…Nothing, in the sense that no page linked to it — but it stayed live and published the single spelling Trompich as settled, after the archive had established that the two copies of the act disagree. The row was renamed to Maria Trompich or Fumpich (Cincopan) and the new page built, but build-dossiers.py never prunes, so the old dossier survived every rebuild. Deleted by hand. A rename is not a move; it is a copy unless the old one is removed. 21 Sept 2026…

…is not a rich seam; it is a broken query. Coverage dossiers-are-additive Renaming a person leaves their old page standing, because the dossier builder only ever adds. Maria Trompich (Cincopan) was renamed to Maria Trompich or Fumpich (Cincopan) when the two copies of her daughter's marriage act turned out to disagree. The new page appeared; the old one kept answering 200 on the live site, with the superseded single spelling on it. build-dossiers.py writes a dossier for every…
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
