Antonia De Franceschi (b. 1721)
Antonia De Franceschi (b. 1721), 1721. Svetvinčenat. Every mention of this name in the archive — 6 across 7 pages.
«Antonia fig.a di Gio Batta Defranceschi, 1 7bre 1721» — from the A page of the baptism volume's own alphabetical index, read 21 September 2026 and magnified. (doc, for the index line.) She is a fourth child for a household this archive already had. The same index gives Gio Batta Defranceschi and Anzoletta three children — Gasparo (10 August 1718), Cattarina (10 February 1728) and Battistina (23 December 1731). Antonia of 1 September 1721 sits between the first two. (inf, on the strength of the father's name and the parish.) Her own act has not been opened. The index line carries no carta reference that this reading could make out, and this archive has learned not to trust the ones it can — of the four carta references checked from this index, one was a wrong carta, one a wrong month and one had nothing behind it. Find her by date, not by page.
This archive holds 5 other pages under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

…origin married «Maria Zanco vedova di Gasparo De Franceschi, carnico pure lui» — widow of Gasparo De Franceschi, himself a Carnian — and came into his capital; her will leaves it, should their children die, to her first husband's kinswomen «Pasqua e Antonia De Franceschi». Four people, and an explicit statement that Gasparo was Carnian. Brhan takes this from an unpublished private study, so the archive records it as a lead needing the Pisino registers behind it — but a Carnian De Franceschi at Sanvincenti in the eighteenth…
…notarial material gives «D.no Vittorio De Franceschi» among the landed proprietors, and a «Gasparo De Franceschi, carnico pure lui» — himself a Carnian — whose widow Maria Zanco left his capital, should their children die, to his kinswomen Pasqua and Antonia De Franceschi. So: not one Carnian settlement in Istria, but at least three Gologorica in the Habsburg county of Pazin, where a Gian Battista is «il vecchio stipite» dead in November 1686 and where his descendant cut ANNO· DOMNI· 1711 over the…

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
