- Rosa DeFranceschi — 1885 – 1956, Giubiasco, Ticino, Switzerland
Her name was wrong, and the register says so. This archive carried her from the family tree as «Joanna Defranceschi, born 9 June 1848», daughter of Antonius and Francisca. The Gologorica baptism register, folio 109 (M01069123), house 5, enters: > «Junii 8ᵃ · ROSA nata heri» — of «Antonius Defranceschi» and «Francisca nata Defranceschi»; godparents «Giovanni L— et Adelina Defranceschi», entered cives. Born 7 June 1848, baptised the 8th. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214.)* One child, not two. A mother cannot bear children on the 7th and the 9th of one June, and no second entry stands near it. The tree's name and date are both out; the register is the document. The correction is published. ⭐ And a later hand closed her life on the same line: «† 10/12 99» — died 10 December 1899, aged fifty-one, where this archive had no death year at all. The id is kept and not moved — a moved id is a dead URL — so the address published under the wrong name still reaches the right woman. Her siblings: Teresia (1843), Maria (1845), Leonardus (1847–1917).
Cimitero di Giubiasco
The same person as Rosa Defranceschi — same years, same place, entered twice from the same reading. Not a wrong date, a double insert. Adjudicated 27 September 2026.
⚠ And on 5 October 2026 the name on both rows was corrected. The Gologorica register names this child ROSA, born 7 June 1848, not «Joanna, 9 June 1848» as the family tree had her. The correction is published; the pid is kept, because a moved id is a dead URL, and the row will go on reading joanna-defranceschi-1848-2 for ever.
This name sits in more than one household. 2 sets of parents survive the date check. The first is drawn. Joining them on a name alone is the mistake this site keeps having to correct.
9 of the 9 relationships drawn above are written in a register this archive has read with its own eyes.
1 household was rejected before this chart was drawn, because the dates do not fit a person of this name: Leonardus Defranceschi × Maria Udovicic (Defranceschi) (1886).

This archive holds 1 other page under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
