What the archive knows

Born 16 December 1872, baptised 16 February 1873, at house 7. Gologorica baptisms, folio 147 (M01069154): «SYLVIA HELENA die 16 Dec. nata 1872», of «Franciscus Defranceschi, possidens» and «Clotildis nata Ortis»; godparents «Eduardo Ortis» and «Luigia Ortis» — her mother's people. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214.) The pedigree already had 16 December 1872 and the register agrees to the day. Verification; the baptism, the house and the godparents are new, and this row had an empty note.

Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
