3 different people of this name
This page gathers every mention of the name. These are separate individuals — not one life — and each has their own page.
- Aloÿsius Defranceschi — 1790, Vižinada
- Aloysius Defranceschi — 1826 – 1829, Kaštelir
- Aloysius Defranceschi — 1832, Volosca (Volosko)
On the two-parish reel 005497893 (Vižinada deaths + Vodnjan baptisms); which of the two is not yet resolved
⚠⚠ CORRECTED 11 October 2026 — the death year 1870 is withdrawn, and the birth day is now 4 May. The parish counted him among its living at seventy-six on 31 December 1908 («Senes» list, M01069823), and the 1921 status animarum heads house 87 with him: «De Franceschi Aloisius», conditio «mercator», n. «4 Maji 1832», wife «Joanna ux. n. Udovičić», daughter «Gisella» n. 15 Aprilis 1873 (M01069915). A man cannot be counted alive at seventy-six in 1908 and have died in 1870. The correction is filed and the house is told here. ✔ He is the «ALOYSIUS DEFRANCESCHI, MERCATOR» who fathered Gisella Elvira — the collision flagged on 5 October is resolved, and his daughter's father is no longer a dead man. ✔ This archive's other row for him — the MyHeritage «Aloysius / Aloisius 'Luigi' Defranceschi, 1832–1912, Volosca» — gives a death of 1912, consistent with the 1908 list. The two rows are one man; both ids are kept and frozen, and no id is moved. Born at Volosca, not in Poland — corrected 30 September 2026. The 1826 status animarum enters him «Aloysius … filius natus Volosca»; this archive had «natus Polonia». His mother Lambertina née Peschle is entered «Ex Volosca» two lines above him, so she went home to be delivered. Gologorica Status Animarum 1826, house 7 — DAPA microfilm ZM34K-214, image M01069408. ⭐ The birth day. That 1826 reading gave 4 May 1832 against the roster's 8 May and was not acted on, on one page-scale reading. There are now three register statements of 4 May 1832 — 1826, the 1908 «Senes» list, and the 1921 census, the last two read at magnification — against one tree-derived 8 May. The day is changed. --- ⭐⭐⭐ 11 October 2026, later — THE 1870 IS HIS WEDDING DAY. > Gologorica Status Animarum 1862 (M01069542), Matrimonii contracti, braced across him and his wife: «25. Nov. 1870» The correction above withdrew «died 25 November 1870» as unexplained. It is explained: the family tree recorded his wedding day as the day he died. He married Joanna Udovičić on 25 November 1870, and their eldest, Armella, followed on 7 April 1871. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, Gologorica Status Animarum 1862.)

1 household was rejected before this chart was drawn, because the dates do not fit a person of this name: Aloysius Defranceschi × Joanna Udovicic (Defranceschi) (1871–1883).

This archive holds 4 other pages under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

…and dead at Ovaro in 1978. Everything on this page describes a road out of Carnia into Istria. This is a man who came back up it, and lies in the valley his family had left. Labin is also where the surname is first indexed anywhere in Istria — Aloÿsius Defranceschi, 1615. Furlani is not our name and nothing joins him to this family. He is here because the whole argument of this page is that the two countries were one world, and a stone that says born Albona, died Ovaro proves it in five…

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
